Janet’s expertise in fintech, reg tech, cyber resilience advisory, and data privacy governance has seen her engage with entities ranging from government bodies, and financial institutions to start-ups.

This has enabled her to appreciate the eco-system that is the TMT sector which continues to be dynamic with innovations being done at a pace that legislation is unable to keep up with. Consequently, she has been invited to speak on various professional platforms about regulatory and legal issues in the TMT space locally and regionally.

Janet is one of the few privacy practitioners in Kenya who have received training and certification relating to GDPR. She is also a certified Data Protection Officer. Janet is a thought leader in TMT, and she continuously publishes on regional and international sites such as CIO and Afriwise.

She has previous experience in other practice areas that have proved useful in offering holistic legal services for a wide range of clients. She has been highly involved in and has deputized high-value complex project developments and has a strong grasp of compliance, tax, and regulatory compliance.

(Kenya’s flag carrier airline) in connection with advice provided to them. The advice was provided to enable them as an entity to understand the implications of data protection regulations and the risks they presented to their offerings in Europe and regionally.
